“Emily: A Passionate Entrepreneur in Dreadlocks and Hair Extensions
Emily, a resident of Cefn Hengoed in the Caerphilly area, originally hails from Kent, England. She believes that Wales is her true home, where she has established her life and business. At the age of 19, she made the move to Wales, and shortly thereafter, she embarked on her entrepreneurial journey by founding DreadCraft Wales Wales at just 20 years old.
With nearly a decade of professional experience, Emily has carved out a niche in the hair industry, specializing in dreadlocks and locs. Since starting her business in 2016, she has accumulated over 14 years of experience in this unique field, having begun her journey at the age of 15. Throughout her career, Emily has had the privilege of working with notable clients, including Arsenal football player Armand Traoré, Welsh rugby player Josh Navidi and Tongan International Rugby Union prop Ma’afu Fia.
Her reputation for excellence has attracted clients from far and wide, with some traveling from as distant as Australia, Germany, and the Isle of Wight to experience her specialized services. Emily's dedication to her craft is evident in her passion and extensive knowledge, which she takes pride in, reflecting on the significant progress she has made in her career.
Recently, Emily has expanded her offerings to include hair extensions, further diversifying her services. She views her role as more than just a hairstylist; she is a confidante for her clients, providing a safe space for them to express themselves and share their thoughts during appointments. This aspect of her work is particularly meaningful to her, as she recognizes the importance of mental health support alongside the beauty services she provides.
Being recognised as a finalist and Runner Up in her category at the Best Of Welsh Business Awards is a significant achievement for Emily. She aspires to one day become the top winner, a goal that reflects her hard work and dedication to her business. Emily is grateful for the support of the awards, which highlight the efforts of businesses like hers and provide a platform for recognition.
Through her journey, Emily has proven that with passion, dedication, and a commitment to her craft, one can achieve remarkable success in the beauty industry. Her story is an inspiring testament to the power of following one's dreams and the impact of building meaningful connections with clients. “
